pull engine. install new LS2. Install corsa stainless headers. Put corvette crossed flag emblem on the front and back. That should be a good start.

LS2: 400 bhp (300 kW)@6000rpm and 400 lbf·ft (540 N·m)@4400rpm

2011+ 5.0: 412 hp (307 kW) @ 6500 rpm
390 lb·ft (529 N·m) of torque @ 4250 rpm

Uh...I'll take the 5.0. More HP in 1 less liter, and better fuel economy.

You're basically right, but it's not like a modern performance-oriented V6 is some torque-less wonder that has to be shifted all the time to keep up with traffic (see S2000 and RX-8). I'm in 6th gear around town most of the time with my V6. Yet it has great top-end power delivery.

With equal drivers a 2011 Mustang V6 will probably not beat a 2010 GT at a dragstrip stock vs stock, but it's not getting its doors blown off either. I think it's a sign of good engineering and progress, but also an indication of how bad the old V6 was.

426 HEMI crate engine is rated at 540 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque.

Better option.
