The most shocking admission was that they city commissioned an expensive study from a respected consulting firm, and then new council members didn't bother to read it. Who the eff cares if the study was "before their time", that's an absolute dereliction of duty.

Politics in Lubbock is the ultimate "closed network". If you aren't in bed with the "group" you don't stand a chance of being elected, and if you do manage to squeeze in somehow, you won't get anything done. So boot the current guys and others just like them will follow.

The current council and their cronies. I had a buddy that ran for city council a few years ago. Never had a chance and will never run again.
