Turner wants the state to foot the bill.....

But last year they hiked the rates to pay for these issues. Where's that revenue going???

The don't serve the interests of the city or it's people.
It is so easy to be wrong—and to persist in being wrong—when the costs of being wrong are paid by others.

And yet these idiots keep getting voted in. I was pretty frustrated all the bonds passed. Why give the city more money when they squander the money they have now

Fun fact: There are some water and sewer lines in Houston that have been in service for >100 years.

Not unusual with any major city. There are still lines in use in NY that are made of wood. As long as there isn't anything to fix on them, no need to replace them just because.

That's why it's a fun fact and not an unusual one!

Wut? This is how we got into the situation we're in with the aging infrastructure and consent decree.

There is a difference between old infrastructure that is still perfectly functional, and aging infrastructure that is no longer functional or at the end of the design lifespan.

Just because something is old does not automatically mean it is no longer useful or viable.

At this point, I'd be surprised if the city didn't backtrack and ask for more money or not deliver when bonds are passed......

Let's be real here.

Slobbin' Sly want money to throw to his buddies in order to get kickbacks and whatever other sexual favors he can garner on the state's dime.

You remember when Renew Houston was supposed to fix all the flooding and potholes?

And then Build Houston Forward?

And then the new one that was passed in this election cycle?

They're all directed at the same problem that still hasn't been touched over 10 years later.

Used to it would be about 20 miles, give or take of 36" diameter in an open field with no obstructions and DI pipe.

Today...less than half of that.

In a city where you have absolutely zero clue what is underground? Not a whole lot.
