you do you my friend.

I just think it's funny to brag on a message board about how I pay slave labor dollars to my kid's nanny but I don't report her income, so she's coming out on top somehow.

Way to bemoan and deride the entire contracting industry.

You're responsible for reporting your own income and paying taxes on it. Period. Employers are not obligated to report it.

Before kids were in school, we had nanny and didn't pay any taxes so dont care if you do or not.

But nanny generally considered a household employees and legally you are suppose to pay the employer taxes for her

That's not true for home care.

I honestly don't care what you people do, but at least be accurate with your tirades

I'm actually on the opposite side of this.

My wife is a nanny being paid cash. Her family does not claim her pay.

That's mostly accurate

Either way, generally, the family is supposed to be paying the employer's taxes for the nanny.

A nanny is not generally considered an independent contractor because of the level of ability of control over the work
