The ones in the area seem to have become sh*tholes prior to being shut down.

I never expected anyone to ask about Steak and Shake.
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

I lived near a s&s when I made the mistake of moving to Dallas for a few years for work. I got drunk and ordered their chili spaghetti and never went back.

.... but strangely I remember it being palatable. Gross.

Fun fact for ya... Chili over spaghetti is the first known Tex Mex meal. It's still served at Larry's in Richmond. At least that's how the story goes..

I don't believe that at all. I'm pretty sure it's a yankee thing. That's why it's called "Cincinnati chili."

They just threw one up at the Woodlands mall green space area. Well, a few months ago maybe.

Houston has had two waves of Steak n Shake failure (they tried in the late 70's/early 80's too). For some reason, the local management always sucked. I go to Steak n Shakes up north and they are usually much better. I like Freddys, but they don't have the chili.

Is it open now? I haven't been over there in a while. They have been building it for a while...a year at least. Covid really slowed down construction.
