hipster sauce and lame duck are two of the better houston brews.

I can't seem to get enough 7-Iron. That stuff goes down so easy. ( That's what she said.)

I haven't seen Baa Baa Brewhouse in Brookshire mentioned yet. If you're going to be in the Katy area, you should definitely try to pick something up from them. If you can't get to the brewery, Crafted Kitchen and Taps typically has them on tap.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. We had a good time.

I'm definitely have an hazy ipa kick right now. My go to beer is Tripel and Belgium wheat.

I limited myself to one beer per establishment.

Started off at No Label with the family. Last time I visited No Label was in 2014 and it was pretty small. And I didn't have kids! Now I got two toddlers who need to roam and No Label has plenty of room to entertain the kids and cool old silos to check out and run around. Their beer has improved a lot imo and even with a packed house their efficiency was good and didn't wait in line too long. Tons of food options from local vendors. I'll definitely be going back. I enjoyed the Sittin Side Haze, wife had Porter that was tasted as well.

8th Wonder was nice. Always like visiting this spot because I'm a big Houston sports fan and love the 8th wonder theme and environment. No complaints here as usual and I had the Red Paw, went down smooth.

We got some free tokens for glassware at 8th Wonder Distillery so we went next door to have that experience. Nice and warm in there with loft like vibes. Pretty cool scene if you are looking for something other than beer.

Next we went to True Anomaly. Very family friendly setting. We sat inside and enjoyed a conversation where we won't yelling at each other. I had the Tripel from there and that's when I really started to get a little buzz going.

Don't worry I wasn't driving.

After that we went to Buffalo Bayou and was able to snag a table on the 3rd floor. It was view I was waiting for. To see the Houston Skyline lit up at night was amazing. I had their buff brew wings, which were amazing, and a Dreamsicle beer. I'll definitely come back to this place, not the best beer I've had but great experience. I'll try some more stuff later.

At this point we decided to call it a night for our Ale Trail because we didn't want to be too drunk while trying to take in experience and new beer at each brewery. We ended up at Kirby's Ice House on Gessner. Really good location and huge bar and ice house set up. Plenty of tables and great selection on tap. I'd definitely go back here. Lots of tvs too for the big games.

I look forward to doing this again at some point in the spring and try out some new joints again.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

Baa Baa is greatness but usually only preorder for Saturday drive through pickup.

How's the Spindletap setup? Their Hazy IPA game is top notch.

Spindletap has a very nice venue. Lots of outdoor space and kid friendly with mini-golf, soccer field, basketball, etc.

Also there's often a dude posted up on Little York selling "COON" out of a cooler. I haven't tried that but if you do please report back.

Spindle wins the haze craze, even with baa baa, b52, ingenious etc...

A lot is seemingly redundant (whatever 'release' it is) but it's consistent for hazy NEIPAs

They have a great taproom and grounds setup with seating, putt putt etc and usually some good food truck setups.

The can releases are run easier than baa baa etc - still pricey AF, but rival actual NEIPA without getting too kitschy

Plus I always ask the kids if they want any COON while I'm up there - don't sleep on the feral HOGS either

$15 for a beer? What brewery have you been going to?

I feel like this thread repeats itself every year. The names on the list, however, are very consistent.

My favorite too.

And to add to Jetch said...on the NW side can do 11Below, Klaus, Senate Ave, and in the Spring Branch 4J Brewery to support the ladies.

Good beers at all of them.
I was in the room here one day... watchin' the Mexican channel on TV. I don't know nothin' about Pele. I'm watchin' what this guy can do with a ball and his feet. Next thing I know, he jumps in the air and flips into a somersault and kicks the ball in - upside down and backwards... the dang (sc) goalie never knew what the hell hit him. Pele gets excited and he rips off his jersey and starts running around the stadium waving it around his head. Everybody's screaming in Spanish. I'

This happened one night riding home from Liberty Station after a Saint Arnold tap takeover.

I know it's after the fact, but if you ever have a chance, check out Texas Leaguer in Missouri City. It's also sold at several HEBs and convenient stores around Houston.

Their 2 Hopper IPA is great.

We went for their anniversary and the guy up front mentioned that one of Spindletap's former brewers (might have been their head one) had just started there, so I'd expect Texas Leaguer to start putting out more Hazy IPAs. Their first one was on tap that day, pretty decent. I actually like their others more than their IPAs, though, particularly their Bock.

Also believe one of B52's brewers has gone over to Urban South, though don't remember where I heard that.

Try Holler- Nice view of downtown with a lot of street art on the backside of the building. They have Czech style beers. Buffalo is a nice view, but the beers not so much. I'd also skip Platypus
agree on Platypus but disagree on Buffalo Bayou.. they do lots of good beers

The experience at Buff was not for me. Great view of downtown, but their selection of beers to try/drink was basically what you see everyday at HEB. The only beers I find worth drinking from there are Smoke on the Bayou and a few other stouts, but in general they aren't that exciting.

I like their beers in general, but yeah, it feels like they've almost completely stopped putting new stuff out when they used to regularly do so. Think the only things I've seen new from them since the new place opened are the seltzer and the cider, neither of which I have any interest in. Hard to keep the "most creative brewery" title when everyone else continues to innovate and you do nothing.

There's also been a lot of rumors about the owner's antics that have caused a lot of folks to distance themselves from them.

I just went there two days ago. They had over 45 beers on the menu, there is no way you can find all of those beers at a liquor store/grocery store.

Many of these were beers I've seen before, but there were new ones as well.

The food there was outstanding. The only thing I don't like about their beers is how many are higher than 8%

Just googled his name and found this.

Seems some former employees are pretty pissed.

I think the most I've seen of their bombers at any store was like 8 at the downtown specs. With their new space, it does give the appearance of more if you went to their old place, but pretty much everything on their beer list was at Nolda at one point or another. They're just in a place where they no longer have to rotate like they did before.

Like I said, I like their beers. I know there's a vocal group that hates them, but I thoroughly enjoy their offerings. I just wish they would get back to making new ones.

I enjoy More Cowbell and Crush City but usually go for other breweries when available. Knowingly putting out bad/infected beer is a pretty horrible business practice.
