It is all nostalgia. That place is gross. Hungry Man breaded cardboard topped with just add water cream gravy and reconstituted potatoes. Eat em up boy, you can have my portion too.

Last one I went to was north of Funkytown, somewhere around Justin, I think. Up on top of a hill above the highway. Hopefully it stays up there. I understand that nasty people need to eat too, but lets at least try something new.

Back in the day, it was one of very few restaurants that existed near The Woodlands. Family went there almost weekly. Beans and the rolls were pretty solid.

It was a dark day when the original in McKinney burned down. Taco Bueno is so overrated but I'd love to have a Braum's in Katy.

i remember hitting up the C.S. one by post oak mall with the People Book Coupon.

i think it was two Chicken fried steak dinners for $6.99 or something like that

Man... bringing back memories... I worked at the Grandys on 1960 between Champion Forest Drive and Stuebner Airline.. that was around 1978?.. 1979?...

The Grandy's was torn down a long time ago. It was a Steak N Shake for a while.... think the Fidelity Investment building is on the old site...

Cinnamon rolls and chicken livers. Picked the raisins out many a Grandy's cinnamon roll back in the day. Chicken livers were awesome.

Back in the mid 90's I was building houses in Fairfield and another subdivision off Spring Cypress. The Grandy's off Hwy 6 just south of 290 was on my rotation of places to eat at for lunch...partly because there was very little off 290 at the time. Carl's BBQ was about it. Loved Grandy's fried chicken and CFS. Being in my mid 20's I could still eat all I wanted and never gain any weight.

Growing up, my dad and I would go often on weekends for breakfast.

The biscuits with brown gravy was amazing. Would get that with bacon and scrambled eggs.
