Well at least they're providing some sort of guidance. Abbott has basically left all businesses that are closed in the dark since the statewide mask order & shutdown.
Bar have been offered an exception permit under a new TABC rule that allows them to open as restaurants so long as they pay $1000 for the permit and have alcohol sales of 49% or less.Panama Red said:

2020 has turned TABC into the good guys looking for loopholes to help bars open back up. This year is so weird.

Pimlico on Waugh just got its restaurant license. Their menu is:
- bag of chips
- microwave pizza
- steak night sometimes.

If's farging ridiculous. Case in point...the bar in our Knights of Columbus Hall was licensed as a bar. We we were closed and couldn't sell beer. We realized that the majority of our revenue came from renting the damn place out for weddings and stuff. So our license is in the process of getting changed. as someone said earlier on the thread, this is just a way to have a more measured opening of bars instead of the ol' "open everything at X% occupancy". it doesn't make any sense, either. and it's further ridiculous that these crippled businesses are having to pay additional dollars for the "privilege" of being able to open.
Everyone just wants to be able to get out of the house away from the SO and go have a damn drink at the local watering hole in peace
