Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't Bloomberg be the safest choice for a general election - from a Trump supporter point of view?

I mean, Bernie, Warren or Biden or Buttigieg (BWBB) - that scares the crap out of me compared to Bloomberg. Why take the unnecessary risk we end up with BWBB. Shouldn't we all be supporting and even voting for Bloomberg in the primary?

He's by far the most authoritarian of the candidates. Civil liberties mean nothing to him.

It's crazy to me that everyone is just forgiving and forgetting "stop and frisk" because he's sorry.

Literally aimed at taking away the rights of minorities.

Did I not also hear last week that he is also a racist? Love turning that kind of accusation on these would-be tyrants.

I'm shocked at the number of ads for Bloomberg on 97.1. I can't think of a demographic that would be further from him with his anti-2A stance. Seems like a complete waste of money to me but what do I know.

"To me, fiscal conservatism means balancing budgets not running deficits that the next generation can't afford. It means improving the efficiency of delivering services by finding innovative ways to do more with less. It means cutting taxes when possible and prudent to do so, raising them overall only when necessary to balance the budget, and only in combination with spending cuts. It means when you run a surplus, you save it; you don't squander it. And most importantly, being a fiscal conservative means preparing for the inevitable economic downturns and by all indications, we've got one coming."

More authoritarian than the old coot that wants to have the federal government in control of every part of your life and tax some people at 97%?

Remember... he's not running against Trump yet... he's running against Sanders, Biden, etc etc. If he's serious about becoming the Democratic nomination at this point, he better be running ads in basically every major place that he can.

To the OP. Yes I think he would be the safest choice from a Trump supporters perspective.

Supreme Court protects against 2nd amendment infringement. Has professed fiscal conservatism in the past. Businessman. Not a socialist.

Good point but still seems like a waste of money with his anti 2A stance. I would assume most people listening to that station would stay away from the Democratic primary. Maybe there's enough folks that listen who want a "less crazy" New York businessman that will go pull the lever for Bloomberg in the Democratic primary.

He's doing blanket advertising; it's not very targeted. He's made some media buyers very happy.

I don't know, but I feel like his advertising budget to this point in Houston alone would be enough to get our country out of debt. His adds are freaking everywhere.

Tell that to Virginia. Or every other place that has used red flag laws to circumvent the Constitution. Or California and Illinois, who limit the amount of ammo you can buy and require massive licensing to do so.

Bloomberg is a socialist in sheep's clothing, nothing more. This is the guy that passed regulations on the size of soft drinks and whether table salt could be used in NYC. And who has openly stated that he thinks there is nothing wrong with government restricting your rights and civil liberties.

Yeah, great choice there.

May be some overlap, but NASCAR fans may be even further away, which made Bloomberg's "American is failing, divided, bad guns, orange man bad, I'm the one who can unite the United States" ad during the Daytona 500 comical. This was right after Air Force One buzzed the crowd, Trump led the field for a lap in his limo, and then called the race to start. I think only him riding off on a bald eagle while firing hot dogs and apple pie out of an AR could have made it more "America F' Yeah". So Bloomer's "your country sucks" ad may have fallen a little flat.
