Seems like new ones popping up all over the place. I am told most contain only a tiny amount of THC, so it's not like they are selling maryjuwaney is something.

And is there actual science behind the lotions and oils they are selling, or just more "bro-science"?

Marijuana has been proven to have medicinal properties for a long time. CBD is the active ingredient of marijuana that provides many of these medicinal properties. CBD won't get you high and lots of people have claimed CBD helps them with pain, inflammation, sleeping better, etc. Some of it might be placebo, some might be real. Texas recently passed a law allowing the legal sale of CBD, that's why it's so popular.

I don't think it's ant new laws I just think the market is there and people have learned how to skirt around marijuana laws.

Literally above you. HB1325 legalized hemp in Texas and created the legal CBD craze and MJ testing fiascos that led to many jurisdictions refusing to prosecute small amounts due to the inability to test to the level required by the new law.

Thanks for the clarification.

And just FYI...That link is a bunch of legal gibberish and the picture you're posting isn't showing up.

Just remember that some CBD oil can get you a positive result on a drug test, so if you have a job where you get tested, you're rolling the dice.

Alcohol isn't an anti-inflammatory. I've developed some bad (trending worse) osteoarthritis in my lower back. I don't want to be on Advil all the time. If CBD oil can help manage it, then I would without a doubt use it.
Still on the fence though and I'd really wait for a doctor's (neurosurgeon) recommendation. Is it a cure? No, there are no cures. It's just about managing pain and not being wasted at work.

Seems like the same folks pushing cbd oils for random stuff were the same ones pushing essential oils last year.

My father uses it and it has helped alleviate some pain and inflammation. He's 64 and has some degenerative nerves in his neck and his doctor (a Jamaican) told him to give it a shot. He has a rub and it's helped a good bit.

I'll try to find out the name of the stuff and I'll post it here.

Pretty much sums it up. If the switch is flipped to legalization of pot then these guys are ready to roll.

CBD Vape stuff works if you get the right stuff. To actually feel calm/relaxed and to notice alleviation of pain, you have to take several huge rips though. I think a lot of people are shy with it and therefore don't notice any effects.

You may be right but I'm not so sure. There is A LOT involved...and I think it will be so regulated, that it is doubtful "American Shaman" or "Jim's CBD Shop" or "Vapes and more" will have a leg up on anyone else. The dispensaries I have been to are nothing at all like the CBD or head shops here.

Either way, we are definitely creeping towards legalization.

My dad swears that CBD use has cured his Austin, TX allergies. Pretty amazing, as he's struggled with allergies for the last 20+ years.

They're two completely different topics. The proliferation of CBD products predates and is independent of recent changes in hemp regulation, and is not limited to Texas. CBD oil is not hemp.

passage of the hemp law mentioned above is only the first part of why there has been such proliferation.

the Texas Dept of Agriculture has to submit a plan to the USDA to monitor the growing/production of hemp products.

after that plan is approved, then the Texas Dept. of Health & Human Services can put regulations in place on sale of hemp products, CBD etc.

So its essentially a free for all now. no regulations in place (only law on the amount of THC permitted). that will change once our benevolent overseers in Austin get the regs in place.

I'm in the same boat. I have nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) from chemotherapy. Traditional treatments are useless and a lot of the meds are as bad as, if not worse than the neuropathy. There are some promising non-medicinal treatments, but they're expensive and insurance doesn't cover them because they're experimental.

I've been playing with the idea of trying CBD oil, but I'd like to have more information. On the fence is exactly right.

I'd just like to not hurt a little of the time.

Yeah, it will be much like some of the joints that tried to get a "foothold" into some of the states that legalized sports gambling -- they get bulldozed over by the large joints that already have the full infrastructure setup (Vegas/AC/etc... for gambling, Colorado for weed).

I tried a CBD creme sample for muscle and joint soreness from minor sports injuries. I really can't tell if there was a noticeable effect or not beyond a placebo effect. It surely wasn't any dramatic difference for me. It's really difficult to isolate any improvement out of random "noise".

Cool to hear. It has helped someone I know with brain cancer. The biggest positive was alleviating facial seizures and piercing migraines that the cocktail of prescription drugs didn't seem to help much with, outside of impairing him significantly and messing up his speech.

Sorry to hear that...CBD would definitely be worth a shot imo. Helped my bro with the pain and discomfort for a few weeks after a surgery he had. Do you get tested for work? If not, you may want to even try the real thing. I have some stuff from Cali that definitely helps in that area if you ever want to try it out.

Absolutely true. We have let go 15 people so far due to failing drug tests with CBD oil use.
