My top 3 in no particular order:
Frank's (Yes, even sober it's pretty damn good)

I've never been to Brothers. That would involve venturing outside of the loop. Romano's was meh.

Can't honestly say I've ever eaten a Gumby's pizza and Double Dave's is just meh, but I will cut you for some pepperoni rolls from either place.

Otherwise I'm happy to get delivery from Papa John's or Domino.

Pizza snobbery is not something I really lend much credence to when it comes to a really terrible food, health-wise, and get it maybe once every 6 weeks.

Oh yeah, Chicago-style "pizza" or casserole is pretty terrible too.

I really like Pizaro's pizza as one of my all time favorites.

There's a mom and pop Italian restaurant/pizzeria near my neighborhood that is also very good called George's Pizza. Run by a Greek family for many years. They even have a Greek gyro pizza that is one of my faves from there.

Good thread idea. TBH, all Texas metro areas have generally lousy Italian food. We just didn't benefit from having any significant number of Italian immigrants settle here. Living in the North East made me appreciate that our Italian is about as good as their Mexican.

What was the name of the pizza joint next to Doghouse Tavern in Midtown? The one that closed a few years ago, but it's opened now under a different name. That place had legit pepperoni and jalapeno rolls!

Ponzo's maybe? They made some badass sandwiches too. Order, drink a beer next door, eat and drink more beer next door.

Yep!! That was it!! I used to laugh at all the dumbasses that ordered a Digorno from the bar. My friends and I would walk next door order a dozen rolls, have a beer, go grab the rolls, and then bring them back and drink more.
