BIL lives out of country and just bought a new house in Sienna Plantation. He wants someone to come in and do his garage floor before they move in.

Any suggestions?

I do resinous flooring but mainly commercial work all over Texas and Louisiana.

I'd be happy to assist any TexAggers if you have flexibility as we stay pretty busy but can work in residential work in out slower periods. We have around 20 employees spread out between Houston and Austin.

Full flake systems with a polyurethane topcoat will generally run $4-$5/sf. This will include a mechanical prep- shotblast or grinder dependent on condition of concrete.

I generally can be in the $3-$4 range (dependent on size and location) because of the high volume of stock that is at my warehouse from all the left over material from our commercial projects.

Feel free to shoot me an email if anyone wants to discuss this further.

The shortcuts that can be taken are in the prep and quality of material. The prep needs to be a mechanical prep via shot blast and/or grinder. Most customers aren't savvy enough to research quality of materials but this is just as important as the prep to determine the longevity and endurance of the floor system. The sealer needs to be polyurethane or polyaspartic (more expensive). Both of these are UV stable. Epoxy sealers are not and will amber in due time with UV exposure. This is how many companies are able to offer a cheaper price and the customer is unaware.

Again, I'm not advocating for work, I'm here to assist anybody that is looking to do this at their home, shop, or business. We do 97% commercial work and about 3% residential small business based off referrals and friends.

I'll be happy to answer any questions anybody may have here or offline. I know some of the companies mentioned and would recommend a few and a there are a couple I saw that I would avoid.

Here's to BTHO Georgia!!!
