People who end up with lots of money aren't idiots with their money (although their kids might be). Otherwise they wouldn't have lots of money.
Similarly, you'll make a lot more money opening your Taco Bell in San Antonio or Shreveport rather than Beverly Hills or Boulder, even though the people in the latter two cities seem like they could use the calories more. But if they ate Taco Bell they wouldn't look like they do.
