Legit. Owner was a Pappasitos chef for a number of years before striking out on his own. Haven't been in some time though... need to go back soon.
Natalita's on 290 and Jones Rd was strong a few years ago but I haven't been back. If I lived around there, it would have been in the regular rotation.

I like not waiting 30-45 mins to eat solid Mexican food at reasonable prices so I would appreciate it if you just kept the greatness that is Chavez to yourself.
fajitas, both beef & chicken, were still solid at least a month ago or so. Enchiladas have fallen off a bit but overall still a solid choice. That's been my family's go to Mexican spot for 20+ years and my wife always insists we go at least once whenever we're back in town.lunchbox said:

Personal favorite for fajitas is Alecia's at 290 / Mueschke. They use a citrus marinade as opposed to teriyaki-based, which I think is superior.

Combo: Fried avocado stuffed with grilled chicken and cheese with a beef fajita enchilada combo. Greatness.
Chvez has really good eats. Only knock I have on them from my experience (at least 8 visits) is the service is mediocre to below mediocre.
Hmmm... I'm down the road from one of the Chavez locations right now, trying to decide if it will help or hurt a hangover.
Alicia's is garbage
I like Fajita Pete's at Spring Cypress and 249. Mandi Cocina nearby is also solid.
