Saw that the Jason's deli at 2 allen center is on a permanent vacation. Anyone know why? it was always busy during lunch.

They're getting ready to do a similar remodel on 2 Allen that they did at 1 Allen a year or so ago and I guess Jason's had to go. "Exciting new retail plans are underway" according to an email blast from management.

Do business with Jason's Deli and that location is closed for about a year for construction. When they re-open will be in Tower 2.

Sidenote for those who don't know; Jason's Deli was started by Joe Tortorice in Beaumont, TX, good Ag and good company.

Joe's son is Jay. Jay + Son is how they got Jason's.

I got an email blast from Jason's Deli saying it would be permanently closed. Saw a sign yesterday that the Amelie's Coffee in Three Allen is closing too.

Murphy's Deli in One Allen is already closed, Amellie's Coffee will soon (like in a week?). Hadn't heard about Jason's. Massa's / Blue across the street shut down too.

Still decent sang options nearby - Zero's, JJ's and Subway.

Not sure what will go into the closed spots. Probably something trendy and new, like the new Poke and Crepe places that may have a popularity shelf life.

Had the pleasure of meeting Joe in college - super nice guy. Started selling sandwiches out of his dad's shoe shop and turned it into a huge business.

They must have two dozen amilles coffee shops in the tunnels. I have to walk from one Allen to the shops daily and it seems like I pass four or five of them along the way.

All of the downstairs of 2 and 3 Allen are about to go through a remodel, so everything has to go.

Y'all try out Wimpy's burger. Street level under the Hyatt garage @ 632 Polk Street.

You can get to it via the tunnel system coming out inside the Hyatt lobby, out near the valet, around the corner. So your on the street sweating balls time is at a mimimum. If you know where Benihana's is it's right in that area.

I'm pretty sure it's owner operated, Been there for a long time. The dude makes a real solid burger basket.

Anyway, thought I send the dude a shoutout.

Haven't eaten at Jason's deli since college. Is it still disgusting?

I enjoy it. Sorry it's not up to your snobby Panera standards.

Snappy Salads in One Thousand Main shut down last Friday. It was usually pretty crowded at lunch time.

Wimpy's is great. Owner is great and very attentive.

Beyond their great burgers, they also have a good buffalo chicken sandwich, shrimp po and great onion rings.
