How is it that this native Houstonian of over 30 years has never heard of the African Dust Cloud phenomenon until this year?

Never heard Roland Galvan nor Neil Frank, Dave Ward concerned, or Marvin Zyndler for that matter reference African Dust particles in or lungs.

Same - however, I have heard about the dust cloud out in the Atlantic hindering tropical storm/hurricane formation. I just don't remember it ever going over Houston...or if it did, it wasn't news.

I DO remember that several years ago, the wildfires from Mexico stunk up the place a little more than normal.
