I am just going to be walking my kid in. Where is a good place to park if I am just going to be there for an hour at most?

Just park right outside the front door. Leave your flashers on so they will know you're coming right back.
Why not, it's worked fine for me every time I've gone in to pick up family membersAggie09Derek said:hodgesco said:

A lot has changed since you were last at the airport on September 10, 2001.Jock 07 said:Why not, it's worked fine for me every time I've gone in to pick up family membersAggie09Derek said:hodgesco said:

I would for sure leave your vehicle unattended at the airport.Aggie09Derek said:hodgesco said:

I think just to the Southwest ticket area. This is a group trip.
Is there a name for the new garage? Will we be able to walk to the SW area or will we still have to shuttle?
Thanks for all the help. I am more familiar with IAH and flying by myself. The "just walking in" deal is new for me.
Just park on the 4th level of the new garage, that's where the skybridge ends anyway. Hardly anybody up there, easy walk in and out.TXTransplant said:
When I'm doing the same with my son, I always park on the first floor of the new garage. It's the first one/turn on the left as you pass through the ticket dispenser. The new garage is better organized (no more dead-end aisles), better lit, and the elevators to the sky bridge are much faster than in the old garage. Also, the skybridge puts you right at the Southwest tickets counters (assuming that's what he's flying).
Will you be walking him back to the gate? If so, you will need an escort pass. You don't have to wait in the full-service line (if it's long) to get one; you can ask one of the agents checking bags at the self-service counter to print it.
