Need ideas for 'office teambuilding'

Okay, so today my new boss (female) sent out an email to her direct reports (me plus 3 others - also females) asking for ideas for a departmental 'teambuilding/fun/whatever' off-site activity.

First, ib4 lol you work for/with girls. I'm a male.

Now that's out of the way, gimme ideas. Boss' examples of 'fun & crazy' included "anything from pottery decorating to bowling". God help me.

Off the top of my head, all I can think of is a charter fishing trip out on the bay.

Looking for mainly legit ideas, but also open to the inevitable humor.

You should definitely still suggest it. I sure as hell would rather do that than painting with wine or bowling.

Top Golf might be the best idea, since it doesn't require much previous skill or physical ability. The main benefit is for people to see each other in some activity outside of the office. But does anybody really enjoy the classic "team building" exercises or retreat type stuff? You can do trust falls after a couple rounds of shots if you want that sort of thing to be fun.

Apparently escape room was done last year (before me & before new boss) and was a huge hit. But off the table now.

There is nothing like team building by making everyone on the team spend 8 hours in the office and then another 3-4 hours 'hanging out' after work when everyone just wants to go home and see their families.

Where is your office? Is this to be done after work one day, over the course of a work day, or over a couple days?

They have team building events like driving blindfolded while your partner give directions, relays, and getting a big ball around the track.

No booze there but it actually does team building.

And how in the world do you work for a woman? You in HR?

I enjoy team building events outside of work hours. There is definitely something to be gained with it.

Make it during work hours or forget it.

Can you suggest it happens during work hours or at least starts during work hours? 3 o'clock on Friday is an easy team building time for something like a Top Golf. Go til 5:30, have a bar tab. Reduce the eye rolling nature of team building by doing it on company time.

Wife and her coworkers went there and one Asian woman T-Boned another lady and split her finger open all nasty like. I saw the picture and wanted to puke.

Other lady should have seen the Asian's turn signal and not gotten in her line.

I participated in one at my old job that was the meal packing through Rise Against Hunger. It was onsite but everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Didn't see this suggested, but I've done a team building bowling thing at lucky strike before. We had a bar tab and some food. Not a bad place to spend a few hours on company time especially considering that's your bosses idea of wild and crazy lol.

Sure, overtime pay. Seriously, just do it on company time.

Office "Team Building" is a farce and stupid.

Teams are formed through relationships over time, not some cheesy crap that people only show up for to make sure they aren't fired.

Volunteer at a charity for a few hours then go bar hopping/dining with a chartered bus.
