Could you make it to Uptown Park for Songkran Thai instead? Exquisite Thai food at very reasonable prices and great atmosphere. I've run into Bush 41 and Babs there 3 separate times.

Tried Huynh Restaurant down the street from Luckys and thought it was delicious. Fried spring rolls, pho beef and coconut curry shrimp were all good dishes and owner's husband Brian was very helpful in making sure we were happy. His mother in law is the cook. Line for lunch was out the door so glad we went early.

Ask for Thai recommendation and get a Vietnamese restaurant. Solid.

Haters gonna hate.

Fine, to the thai question, I suggest Time for Thai in the tunnels for quick meals. It is right next to where Ragin Cajun used to be.

Thai Gourmet is probably the best place in town but no where near downtown. Awesome lunch specials though.

Not exactly downtown, but close. I love Kanomwan on telephone road. Sketchy neighborhood, but business crowd at lunch.

The Tom Yum Goong soup is one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. The other stuff I've had there is decent, but I go back regularly just for the soup.
