Law Enforcement seems like a much more dangerous, difficult and stress inducing job than fire fighting. Not saying fire fighters get paid enough, but I would personally expect cops to make more in most cities.

both jobs have their moments of sheer boredom interrupted with moments of sheer terror.

at least LEO's have guns, batons, tasers, and pepper spray to defend themselves from the crazies.

I've been on a few medical runs that make your blood run cold especially when it hits the fan away from the truck where our tools are that could be used to defend ourselves.

Also have a buddy that is retired Dallas FD that had a hood rat pull an uzi on him while he was working on a patient that had collapsed in a bread store.
