Long story short - bought old home with intent to tear down in 7 yrs. Want to design and put in a pool later this year without knowing the design of the home we will want to build.

My initial thoughts:
1. Architect to help us with general placement of pool on current lot given current lot constraints of easements, existing trees, and being mindful of home design, sun direction, etc.
2. Possibly a landscape architect or #1 helping with pool design and back of yard layout, etc.
3. I will then bid multiple pool companies with the design I have.

Any recommendations on #1 or 2 or suggestions in my idea. I do not want a pool builder coming in and sketching something. I want to bid apples to apples on pool builders when that time comes.

Thanks in advance!!

I think you have all your ducks in the proper row and so now that a site has been secured, you may be able to seek a licensed architect outside your locale that is a residential specialist no longer distracted by commercial work. Such as this deals with your type projects 24/7 and can be your best guide through it all, sans knowing which local home builders to invite to your bidding party later on.
Often we deal with out of town & even out of country clients, some yet to meet but all live in their last home or at least will get asking price if tempted to move.
I agree with your timeline of development and sequence.

Thanks for the response El Duke. Our friends unfortunately had an unpleasant experience with Brickmoon. Their reviews are good on houzz though.
