I've begun to notice more and more old time establishments closing both here and in my old home town.

What are the oldest restaurants in town? I'd like to make one more stop before they escape with time.

Some that come to mind:
Molina's - 1941
Christie's - 1917
Dot Cafe - 1967
Lankford Grocery - 1939?

People who ordered in the 70's are still waiting for their grilled cheese to come out.

I think La Carafe downtown is the oldest if we are talking bars as well.

Cleburne Cafeteria was great but it's gone now.

Yeah. Taken them forever to get the construction started, but finally rolling.

Avenue Grill open since 1962. Seriously good home cooking during lunchtime.

Christies on a technicality (Galveston moved to Houston in '34)! Looks like JCI and Yall St are oldest in Houston.

Anybody ever been to the Dinner Bell near Lawndale or the Tel-Wink Grill on Telephone?

Dinner Bell website says 1952, Tel-Wink says it opened in 1940 and moved to current location in 1962.
