What're the best Vietnamese and Asian style crawfish places around town? I feel like that's an area I haven't dived into well enough

A buddy and I are in the mood for some craw tonight and the options on a Monday night are more limited than weekend. Trying to decide where to go

Then what makes it "Asian"? BBs serves them (for lack of better word) "wet" which I assumed was the Asian way.

But, ya gotta admit, a name like Cajun Kitchen would lead one to believe they are not exactly Asian based.

Why don't you push away from the keyboard for a while and go get some fresh air for a few days or something.

Agreed on this tho. Creatively naming restaurants is not what Houston Asians are good at.

Vietnamese crawfish to be more specific. More spices and seasoning added. Ginger, etc. Also all kinds of dipping sauce too.

It was like $10 or $11/lb when we went there last April or May. And I came away deeply disappointed with the crawfish and food. Crazy because so many friends had told us we had to try it out. maybe we went on an off night. But I'll never pay $10+/lb for crawfish again just out of principle. That's robbery.

Yep...

i.e.
Thai Gourmet
Asia Market

I'm sure I'm missing some.

Applies to non-restaurants as well...

Ive been fooling around with my boils last few years trying to mimic vietnamese style. Probably not true to form but in soak pot put normal seasonings and add heavy garlic, orange juice/oranges, lemongrass, and ginger. Then tossed in clarified butter and more garlic and seasoning.

Makes the potatoes odd flavor. But carrots and Pineapple chunks that come out of it are the most popular.

I called around and Cajun Kitchen is also at $10/lb as well as Crawfish and Noodle. I'll never pay that for crawfish.

Be going to LA tonight at $7/lb

Blows my mind. Dropping $40 on 4lbs of crawfish...which isn't much food at all really.

Go to Mike's Seafood (Asian style with garlic and butter) on Hwy 6 near Bissonnet. Pretty damn good crawfish. $5.99/lb. Certain days of the week (Monday-Thursday I think) is buy 5 lbs get 1 lb free. That's the cheapest I have seen for cooked crawfish and pretty damn tasty too.

The Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church located in Southeast Houston on Kingspoint Road have an annual Spring crawfish festival in mid-April. The crawfish they sell there are great!
