River Oaks. Just down the block and across the street from the theater. Order the soft shell crab appetizer. Better than Pappas entree.

"high praise from a former colleague who is Chinese"

And your point is?

We can find plenty of Americans giving HIGH PRAISE to McDonalds "American food"!

Oh, also I had a Mexican coworker swear Taco Bell was da bomb. Just sayin'

Was this necessary? Someone looking for an authentic experience might appreciate that someone from China is saying this place is AUTHENTIC and good.

None of the things you said actually happened

Im not from china but I tried Tiger Noodle in Katy and it's really good. Never been to Mala Sichuan but I've been to other authentic places on bellaire and it seemed similar.

My Chinese coworkers from Singapore took me to Chuans near the galleria, and it was awesome. They said it was pretty authentic and the food was up to their standard. I heard they have a Chuans in China as well, same owner.

Mala Sichuan Bistro in China Town is hard to beat for traditional Chinese.
