A guy at work today tells me there is a Taco Bueno in The Woodlands. Is he mistaken? Bueno is the best. I remember when I moved to A&M missing Bueno so much that me and my roommate from my hometown started looking into it and apparently they were only north Texas and based out of Sherman or something. If I recall right it was only $25,000 for a franchise though (we thought about trying to buy one for CS). If it is in The Woodlands and making its way through all of Houston, that makes me a happy boy.

What a tease. The title says Houston, but the Bueno is in the Woodlands. Life sucks.

This is funny. My wife went to Austin College in Sherman and she loved Taco Bueno. Craved it.

My foresome went to play Wedgewood Golf Course in Conroe 2 weeks ago and there was a Taco Bueno on the left after you turn off 45 heading for Wedgewood.

I was informed we WILL be heading up there to eat.

that one in Conroe has been open for a while now.

There are a few of the original Taco Bueno buildings still around town. I know of one in the Hobby area that is a bank or some such. And there is one on Red Bluff in pasadena that is a taqueria.

Taco Bueno is no Bueno.

Yeah, the Conroe location has been open for about a year now, the one in The Woodlands opened in September.

Taco Bueno is a lot like the Rosa's craze when they were going to open it in CS. You have to rmember that Bueno, and Rosa's are both fast food, same as Taco Bell and Cabana. I remember being a little let down on Rosa's, then I realized I was at a fast food joint. Bueno is way, way better than Taco Bell or Cabana or Rosa's, and is way, way, way worse than a real Mexican Restaurant like El Tiempo or something like that.

Houston does not equal Woodlands.

I saw it last week on my way back from Dallas. Why won't they come into Houston? I have been waiting forever.

that's like making a special trip for a wendy's because it tastes better than mcdonald's while there are whataburgers all around you.

you live in houston, a tex-mex mecca. if you are going to drive more than 15 minutes for mexican it better be of higher quality than sheety fast-food mexican

You guys just don't understand Taco Bueno. I grew up with the stuff. Now, not having it in Houston really blows. I actually went to the one in Woodlands on the way through the other day and it really hit the spot. You cannot put Bueno on a scale of Mexican food places because the things that I get at Bueno aren't your normal mexican restaraunt sorts of things.

If going to Taco Bueno makes "she who must be obeyed" happy, then off we go to the woodlands/conroe for mex fast food.

That is all.
