Hey guys, it looks like I'll either be going to UNT or UTA this fall to get my MBA in Accounting.

I'm not originally from the metroplex, but any tips on which one might look better/be better? Maybe someone that is currently in either of the programs that has any advice?

anything affiliated with U of Texas is where I would head

I think UT-Austin has a Dallas program now, which may be worth looking into.

According to the folks (both CPAs), UNT used to be pretty well thought of for their accounting program.

UTA scores well on the CPA test.

Department on Accounting graduates ranked #1 in Texas on the new CPA examination in the April/May testing window. (Success rates released by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.)

I've worked with people in accounting from both programs. You'll do fine, either way. UNT likely has more name recognition, but UTA's accounting program is well-respected.

Personal thought would be UNT. Whatever you do, don't go to University of Dallas or Dallas Baptist as their MBA programs are unaccredited.

How many undergrad accounting hours do you have? The first two basic classes (usually financial acct. and managerial) don't count towards qualifying for the CPA exam.

Any opinions on the A&M-Commerce MBA (w/o a minor) or MS in Management?
