Does anyone have any good recommendations for jewelers up here in DFW for engagement rings? All recommendations are appreciated.

DFW covers pretty large area - any specific area you're looking?

I live in Uptown here in Dallas and trying to stay somewhat in this area. Addison, Richardson, etc.

Jk - I bought my now wife's engagement ring from a wholesale diamond merchant (cooks diamond) in the trade center. She chose the setting type she wanted and I ran from there.

I think I paid like $1700 for the 0.75 carat diamond and then another $7-800 for the setting plus taxes. Ring was appraised/valued at $6,000 by my insurance company. So it's all worked out pretty well.

So you're paying premiums on a 6k ring instead of a $2500 ring?

By premiums you mean $140 bucks per year as part of a policy that includes both Aggie rings, wedding rings and a few other valuables? Then yes. Yes I am.

This is where I got mine. Theo is the geologist, but Phil was who I actually bought from. 635 and Preston, in an office tower.

Pro tip: pay in cash and you'll get a discount exactly equal to the sales tax. Just don't ask questions.

I used ascot in Addison. It is a smaller private jeweler that works by appointment. I met with the owner and found exactly what i was looking for at a reasonable price. I had started looking looking at diamond direct but they were more expensive for less quality.
