From Destination Bryan
Born of converging cultures & built on deep Texas roots, Bryan is a community filled with authentic stories, people, and places our legends. Our legends are ever evolving while staying true to our Texas spirit.
Bryan's storied past contains many chapters, and they've all led to the rebirth our community is seeing today. In recent years, Historic Downtown Bryan has become a vibrant neighborhood filled with great restaurants, nightlife, shops, and even 2 incredible breweries. Downtown Bryan is home to family friendly events throughout the year like First Fridays, holiday events, live music, and so much more. The Queen Theatre has also reopened following some exciting renovations, and now shows first-run movies with dine-in theatre amenities.
While Historic Downtown Bryan was undergoing revitalization efforts, Lake Walk was being brought to life on the west side of town. This beautiful area of Bryan is where classic & new-age Texas meet to create a wonderful lakeside hub for innovation, business, and lifestyle. Lake Walk is home to The Stella Hotel, Campfire Restaurant, POV Coffeehouse, The Children's Museum of The Brazos Valley, and will soon welcome Kanji Sushi and Woodhouse Day Spa. They also play host to seasonal events like The Local (a weekly market in the spring & fall), Eats & Beats (a concert series every summer), among others.
If you haven't been to Bryan in awhile, you may not realize that Midtown (roughly the area between Northgate and Downtown Bryan) is being actively transformed into a destination all its own. Work is underway to establish Travis Bryan Midtown Park as a recreation and entertainment hub for the Brazos Valley, with BigShots Golf Aggieland already open along Villa Maria Drive, and more developments coming down the line. Sadly, Chicken Oil Co., a Midtown staple, is closed for the time being due to fire, but there are plenty of other local favorites both old and new to try in this neighborhood on the rise.
