We finally made it back to Texas with my job! We are currently renting in Alliance area but will be looking to buy in Nov/Dec. Taking recommendations on areas to look. Schools will be important as our daughter starts pre-k next year. I'm in sales and cover the golden triangle area. We have already looked at Northlake and the Harvest planned community. TIA!

Argyle or western Flower Mound have great schools and would not be a bad drive. Beautiful area.

Our old house goes on market in Flower Mound this week in the upper 300's. 4br/2ba with a pool and some recent, decent updates. OSE/McKamy schools.

Edited: Just noticed the reference to Alliance. Some of the new developments in far west FloMo are still pricey and not all feed into Flower Mound schools.

Good luck OP. Mid 300's is going to be a tough find given current inventory and rates remaining low keeping supply low and demand high.

I live in Northlake and love it. Harvest is technically Argyle, although it is split as far as which school district it flows too....part to Argyle and part to Northwest, which are both great districts. There's a new development basically across FM 407 from Harvest which is called Pecan Square. It will be all in Northlake and probably is similar to Harvest in terms of amenities, etc. If you're fine with that kind of zero lot line neighborhood, they're both great as far as things to do in the neighborhood. I live in a neighborhood a little more to the west on 407 which has all acre lots or bigger, but it may be a little out of your price range. I haven't checked the inventory in the neighborhood lately.

Also in Northlake, on the east side of 35W, is Canyon Falls. Just another neighborhood to look through.

Would Grapevine be too far outside of the Alliance area for you? May have a little bit better luck finding something in your price range, and GCISD is a very good district.

Canyon Falls is FloMo, Argyle and Northlake with the schools being Northwest ISD. Northwest covers 3 counties and a variety of smaller towns and also parts of Forth Worth, Keller, Westlake, etc. No idea on their reputation but since its fast-growing, newer and a rapidly expanding industrial and residential tax base, the newer schools in the newer areas should trend to the better..

Else, at that price point you are going to have to go with an older nhood / home to get the better schools.

We live in Alliance - moving south this year.

We like the area and the amenities but the DR Horton home we rent, even though it's very new does not feel high quality.

I'm starting to notice that with a good majority of track home builders here. Our rental was built '08 by ryland homes.

We looked at a few recent build neighborhoods and just didn't feel good about them.

We ended up in a neighborhood built in late 50's/early 60's. Most yards have big mature live oaks.

I do a lot of home improvement work and aside from just the age and use of some of the features of the house - it is definitely built much different than homes are built today. Even down to the quality of the lumber in the framing - it's rock solid compared to stuff they're using now.

We're in Wedgewood which is probably too far southwest for you. There are a lot of neighborhoods further in toward downtown Ft. Worth and east where quite a bit of gentrification is happening.

It's not high quality.

North Richland Hills is good, and you can find your price range there.

To clarify - part of Canyon Falls is Argyle ISD. The Argyle Middle School campus is right in the middle of the development. That campus will be converted to being the Argyle High School soon.
