We are looking at potentially moving to Granbury. Any input on what neighborhoods/areas are the best for a young family and which ones to avoid?

My folks live in Pecan Plantation and it's a fantastic community with schools, stores, golf course and most importantly an airfield. They are also very strict about who can get in.

Anyone can purchase a home in Pecan Plantation...

On the "Fort Worth" side of town, there is Pecan Plantation and Decordova Bend Estates, which are planned communities with golf courses, and other amenities. There are TONS of neighborhoods on the Fort Worth side, but Meander Estates might be your best bang for your buck and a full of young families/kids.

On the other side of town there is a mix of high end neighborhoods and low income, and then several in between. Honestly, there are so many different areas/neighborhoods it's hard to explain. Abe's Landing (towards Weatherford) is nice, but it is zoned for probably the worst school in the district in Baccus Elementary.

AVOID: Oak Trail Shores (OTS), Indian Harbor, Western Hills Harbor, Comanche Cove and any other places that allow trailer homes.

Cornerstone Christian Academy but I think they start at 2. Our kids go to Stone Water, but it's more in town off 377.
