I am the Chair of the Dallas Freedom Run, now in its 18th year. This year's event will take place the morning of September 22 at Trinity Groves. All proceeds from the Freedom Run benefit the Assist the Officer Foundation, which provides financial assistance to DFW-area first responders (and their families) that are injured or killed in the line of duty.

With the increasing number of 5K events in the area, we are struggling for both sponsorships and registrations this year. Any help in spreading the word about our event would be greatly appreciated!

Wish they would have kept this race on Thursday night. I ran this race and got 1st overall a few years ago but now with the Saturday format, I won't run it.

Good, gives me a chance to come down and take it.

Yeah, it was a fun event on Thursday evenings, but the DPD advised it was too dangerous shutting down that many streets on a weeknight in downtown and advised moving to a weekend. It was also very difficult to staff with all volunteers since we needed 50+ people to take off work an entire day.
