CHI St. Joseph Health Foundation will host the third annual Gran Fondo cycling event Sat., March 3, with proceeds benefiting CHI St. Joseph Health Cancer Center Services.

"We would love to have as much participation as possible," said Chuck Konderla, CHI St. Joseph Health Foundation Director. "Riders and volunteers send a strong message of support to our cancer patients and survivors."

The 20-, 40-, 70- or 100-mile rides will begin with a rolling start 7:30 a.m. at the Stella Hotel. To sign up for the ride, sign up as a team captain or join a team, visit www.granfondobcs.com. Volunteer opportunities for the Gran Fondo range from individual jobs to group activities.

Donations and proceeds from the Gran Fondo race will provide support for cancer patients receiving treatment at CHI St. Joseph Health Cancer Center.

Because TexAgs is "Friend of the Gran Fondo," we have six entries for the race. However, because TexAgs doesn't have any long distance bikers on staff, we are looking for people to enter the race in our name. If you are interested in racing in the third annual Gran Fondo cycling event as a TexAgs representative, the first six that want to rep TexAgs need to contact us. The rest should register to ride to support a great cause.

If you aren't a racer, but would like to volunteer for the event, visit www.granfondobcs.com.
