I am looking to book a band to play at my wedding next April in the Dallas area and am in need of suggestions. I would like to keep it at or under the $7-8k range, and want to get the most bang for our buck. Does anybody know of any good and fun wedding bands that are affordable?

What type of music? Pop, rock, country, mix? Cover, original, or both?

Small or party size?

Covers, and probably just a good mix of everything (oldies, hip hop, country, typical stuff you'd hear at weddings)

we thought they were great, easy to work with, very professional, and seemed like everyone thought they were fantastic. There were a couple of options as to how much - mainly dependent on how many pieces of the band you wanted.

Be very selective w/bands. I have been to several weddings that had bands & it was more like a concert. They need to interact w/the guests & get them up out of their seats & on the dance floor. Bands/DJ can make or break your reception. If you decide to go the DJ route my son used an Aggie that did a great job! We even had Aggie songs!

Not sure what flavor you're looking for, but these guys are a lot of fun:

They do classic rock n roll, soul, etc. I've been to a couple weddings they played and always had a great time.

My friend had Max Stalling and Mark David Manders play his wedding. Not sure if you like that type of music or how much it costs, but thought I would mention due to potential affordability.

We didn't have any music at it reception. Of course, we only stayed for about an hour since we were excited to go away and consummate our marriage. Guess that's not a big deal to most couples nowadays.

They've been around forever. Is it still the original members from 20 years ago?

Emerald city starts at $15k during non-peak event season and are typically booked 6-8 months in advance. When we talked to them, they had summer 2018 weddings booked, and that was January 2017.

I'll throw in a plug for Inversion ... I went to high school with their guitarist/leader, Phillip. Really solid guy, who's got some chops.

I have a co-worker in this band. We saw them this weekend. Very good.

No Limits Band. They put on a great show. I know them well and can get you in touch.

Can't beat Trey and the Tritones. Great party band that plays to the crowd. Wasn't like a concert. Anyone who has had them that we know raves about them. Also, it's been three years and people still tell us how much they loved the band at our wedding.

They had lots of options too based on how many members you wanted, from looking at other bands we felt they were a steal at what they were charging.
