Cross posted in Home Improvement board as well: Looked through some old threads, but looks like pricing has gone up on having insulation blown in around DFW. Currently have about 4" of cellulose in my 1900 sq. ft. attic. Wanting to get to R38 or a little higher. Based off the calculators I have seen online, it looks like I would need about 30 bags of fiberglass or about 80 bags of cellulose from HD or Lowes. I know this is something I can do with my brother or father-in-law, but also saw lots of posts saying they could have it farmed out for the same cost. Based off those numbers, looks like it would be about $700 or so if I did it myself. All the estimates I have gotten from attic companies have been closer to $1,500 or more. So my 2 questions:

1. Fiberglass or cellulose or does it really matter?
2. Know of any companies in DFW that would do this for under $1,000?

TIA
