craving some pizza rolls. was a big fan of Bucks in College Station, anything similar in the Dallas area?

there are a few Double Dave's scattered about the metroplex

5th St Pizza in Allen has excellent pepperoni rolls.

Joe's Pizza in Carrollton.

Ferrari's in Plano (west side of Preston between Spring Creek and Legacy).

Here is what they look like at Olivella's which I think is a small pizza rolled base on a single roll is $9.



I'm sort of Jonesing for some Double Daves or Gumby's style rolls.

So several if not all of the Double daves in DFW are closed down.....WHY??!

I know the Arlington one was open back in march

Actually it's closed. Damn! Keller is the only one in the metroplex

Yeah their pizza is awful but the stomboli and pizza rolls I believe made up for that.

Same here. I get the same craving sometimes. Luckily, there was a thread on here at one point where someone who had worked at Double Dave's posted how to make them. I can't remember who the poster was, but I happened to copy and paste the post at the time:

I've been doing it for a while, and they almost always turn out very similar. Quite good. They sell frozen dough at Central Market and Whole Foods that works well.

We go to the Keller DD every so often. It was great the last time we went and the owners are Aggies and had the buffet stocked.

Theee were times in the past years that it was not as good.

DD had a Richardson location some years back. I understand the icon status in a college town but outside the lines it wasn't that good. Same with Blue Bell. Bleh.

Went to the Richardson one years ago and it was terrible. I think the magic is lost once you cross the College Station city limits.

Hungry Howie's pizza rolls were tops, IMO

There is a DD in Denton I'm going to head to on Sunday, will report back.

A friend of mine owned the DD in Arlington. He has young kids a got tired of the 7 day a week 12 hour days it took.

Piggie pies is amazing, but I don't think they have pizza rolls. Or do you just order them even though they aren't on the menu?

I've ordered them dozens of times. If they're not directly on the menu, just ask. Then prepare for a coma.
