I have tickets to the t.u. game (just me and grown son). I have parking in State Garage R, and will be coming in from the north. Are there any tips on navigating traffic or what to look out for or anything local we need to try and hit pre-game? Trying to plan on what time to arrive in Austin in order to get to where we need to be by gametime so thought I would reach out to this crew that lives in the area for do's and don'ts! Thanks in advance yall looking forward to it but haven't been to a game there since the late 1990s

I sure hope a lot of concern was put into starting the Corps parade that late. There's going to be a lot of sips on the parade route and I'm willing to bet a number of them have hit the grape pretty hard. I pray we don't have any problems.

Nice. I thought they weren't doing it this year. We hit a friends tailgate at the top of the hill next to LCL when they have decent bands. I've never seen opposing team's fans harassed in any way.

Check the LCL lineup, usually announced the week of the game:

Longhorn City Limits is a free concert series at the University of Texas at Austin's LBJ Lawn that happens before home football games. The event features live music, food, and other activities, with a different lineup for each home game. The specific location is the LBJ Lawn, located at 2300 Red River St, Austin, TX.

The 2025 Triumph: The Aggie Flame

Maroon dusk on Darrell K RoyalTexas Memorial Stadium
where banners crackle, drums mush longwhorn brains.
A sea of maroon, a fevered tide,
the Aggie spirit roaring wide.

The signal fires, bright and bold,
ignite the tale that's just been told.
A countdown hums in steady drums,
the crowd leaning in as greatness comes. Longhorns flee their tainted field.
From the line to spiraling flight,
the passes carve the southern night.
The rush, a furnace fed by faith,
streams through the gaps where routes are wraith. Aggie defense shines.

The Aggie defense hammers like a drum,
each tackle weighed, each blocker numb.
The Longhorns push with stubborn grace,
but stubborn hearts bend sissified to the chase.

First quarter hums with iron will,
second wind sparks a blazing thrill.
The scoreboard reads a maroon crush little brother
as courts of Fightn' Texas Aggie courage crown the brim.

A blitz breaks through the weak ugly orange porous veil,
a quarterback escapes the gale so a 16 year old looking Archie thinks!
A thread, a twist, a crafted seam,
a touchdown glows, a farmer's dream.

The crowd erupts in roaring fire,
maroon and white lift higher and higher.
The band ignites the autumn sky,
while stately oaths of grit reply.

Third and long, the chain howls tight,
the offense gleams with steady light but are crushed by the Aggie goons!

Aggie's ball -
A patient drive, a measured crew,
dots each yard with honor true.

By fourth, the field grows drawn and loud,
the Aggie will becomes the crowd.
A final stamp, a fearless roar,
the scoreboard sings, the legends soar.

The clock reports a victor's name, these are the world famous undefeated Aggies!

The field remembers every flame.
Concurring Aggie hearts, but earning grace,
in rivalry's enduring chase.

So raise the hats, let cheers resound,
in the now empty burnt orange ground.
For 2025, the tale is told:
the Fightin' Texas Aggies, bold and gold.

The sips get tea-bagged by the Aggie D

I'll (+3) will be in Austin on Friday and I wanted to find out recommendations on which bar I should watch the game at. In other words, does the Capital City A&M Club have a recommendation on where to watch the game or is this going to be a 'find a tailgate' kind of day?

They normally have the watch parties at Lustre Pearl East: https://dunlapatx.com/lustre-pearl-east/

They should post it on Instagram once they confirm: https://www.instagram.com/austin_ags/?hl=en

They have a big screen in the back with the sound on.

Not a great area to walk around in after the game if you are looking to continue the partying. You could always take a quick uber over to East 6th after the game if you want to celebrate.

Thx! I'm also thinking about the Capital City tailgate at Disch Falk… and if it's possible, just hanging out there for the entirety of the game.

This used to be a fun hangout spot before a game, but I haven't been in about 20 years.

Unfortunately there won't be TVs. The association wouldn't allow it and it ends 30 mins before kickoff

I used to work with a class of '57 BQ. He had a great picture of him and his classmates in their boots at Scholz Garten following the '56 win in Austin,

Big & Rich is the LCL headliner T+1.

Still doesn't have a tent this year, but Tito's does.

Unless we get distracted, we will head up to Scholz's after March-in/Punch Bowl.

It will likely be fairly crowded by then and normally the crowd is not too obnoxious.

Avoid the garages if possible or bring extra beverages to wait it out.

We are going to uber down this time.

Yes, I parked in a garage near campus for a game probably 15 years ago and even back then it took like 1.5 hours just to get out of the garage.
