I'm going to be WFH for the forseeable future and I'm tired of sitting in my G. Rollie chairs. I don't need a $600 ergonomic one but not a bargain basement either. Should I just go to Office Depot or does anyone have a good rec?

You can probably get a good deal on a used HM Aeron chair now or in the near future when companies start selling off their office furniture.

We bought this one for an employee 18 months ago and he loves it. I just ordered one last week when mine crapped out and I love it too. We shopped around pretty hard and this seems to be a good value.

Do both of those chairs have plastic wheels? Wife is balking because they might scratch the wood floors. I probably need something with rubber.

The wheels are fine. Weve got wood floors and no issues. But get a hard plastic desk floor matt from the same website or office supply store as thr chair and she should be put at ease.

Here's a don't get recommendation. If you go leather versus vinyl don't get bonded leather it will start flaking after 4-5 years. Pony up the extra and get genuine leather.

I second the recommendation for TOPS - I've bought several chairs from them over the years (including their old location). Last chair I got cost me $75...it was brand new and worth a few hundred easily.

It depends. $600 is not a super expensive office chair. I worked from home for 7 years then 6 months after staring a different job am now stuck at home. If you think this is a short term thing get the cheap chair if not get one that will last.

I ended up bringing my stand-up desk home so don't need a chair. Sucks having to re-adjust knees to standing up all day after five months off but it will only take a few weeks.
