Well...I went ahead and did it, got engaged this past weekend. Now the fun starts I guess, hah.

Taking recommendations for wedding planners and venues, please. We're thinking central Austin, 200-250 people and indoors.

Think outside the box - there's a quaint town just 1 1/2 hours northeast of Austin that would be perfect I think. LINK

We got married at the Barr Mansion. It was fantastic. They handle food, tables, chairs and pretty much everything! We had 150 but I think they can do more.

Not indoors, but if you're getting married in the fall (don't) or spring, an outdoor venue would be great. We got married at Kindred Oaks in Georgetown. They have a covered area and a backup plan if there is rain.

We loved Kindred Oaks. Steve and Elaine are amazing. We for married there in 2011 and they've made so many improvements and additions since then.

I just booked mine for April at Brodie Homestead. It's modest outside but the inside is stunning. Pics don't do justice. Pretty affordable.

My wife and I got married at Vista West ranch. They do great work.

Also, the Hotel Van Zandt would be pretty awesome. Afterwards, your fun guests can hit Rainey Street.

I went to a Christmas Party there, it was very nice.

Pecan Springs Ranch in SW Austin can handle outdoor covered wedding and indoor reception and is Aggie owned and operated.

Rib and I got married at Riverbend and had our reception at the Bob Bullock, which was great but I like everything happening at one venue better.
