The fire that burned up an apartment building was right across the street from me. I heard the sirens, stepped out on my porch and saw flames 20 feet above the trees.

Two perished and one is thought to be missing or wasn't home.

As sad as this occurence is, I was bewildered that I was the only one to go outside...FIVE AFD trucks and other 1st responders...crazy...

That group of apartments has had 3-4 fires since I moved to Austin after graduating in 2005. Not sure why...I guess older and less resistant.
