I need to sell a clunker that no longer runs... besides the engine, everything is in tip top shape. Anyone have any experience with junk yards in the area, or advice for getting rid of the car in general?

Thanks guys. My mechanic offered me 300 for it but is taking forever with the money so I figured I could get just as much from somewhere else. I'll look into the donations since nobody else seems to be interested in matching the offer.

Donating only helps if you itemize your taxes and that becomes more difficult starting this year.

Your mechanic is trying to broker it and will only pass the money along after he sold it.

Put it on Craigslist as cash only
