Can't figure out how Cardenas got dragged into this affair. Public Records search and Tax search indicate a house trailer and abt 1/4ac land for this guy adjacent to the Jones Rd property.

If the lawyer's research people made a big jump- I would question their competence. Only and ONLY thing that might make since other is this .25ac provided the best recovery access. AND that is a stretch of the imagination.

Could be, I have not seen the access point to the property... May have been the closest access to the road.
They did not remove the wings and load the plane in the normal fashion. That would mean they needed an escort to Easterwood (which is close) to clear the highway. FAA?

A lot of things were not done "by the book" in this incident. The FAA report will be interesting. Can't wait for KBTX to do a full investigation...

"8679 Jones Rd" (cited in Brazos CAD as Cardenas address) drops a pin on Google maps at the entry gate/pens to the BBC property. And the CAD page does not show a physical location of the mobile home or property.

So now the planer owner "can't recall" whether or not Bobby said he owned the property but "acted" like he did? This is like testimony from my wife

Mistakes were made on all sides... The owner for making assumptions and for Bobby not making it clear that he is not the owner of the property and has no authority to keep the plane owner from his property.

8679 Jones cited on CAD is for a mobile home. Nowhere in Public Records do you find a lease agreement or conveyance of title to... I can see where a Dallas firm decides to just cite everyone associated with property found in CAD and let the courts sort it out.

Then you made a poor choice there…

So I am the only guy that married someone who disregards what they actually say and extrapolates something else from it?

Man I knew it!

Poor me

Got another open records request back. Requested all emails, texts, notes, records, electronic messages concerning, discussing or mentioning the plane that made an emergency on landing on land owned by the BBC on or about 12/27/2022.
City of Bryan response-we have nothing
BBC response- a single email asking them if it was on their property.

Who asked BBC about the plane being on BBC property?

City of Bryan attorney. He emailed them on 3/10 asking if it was on their land.

Just got a response from Bryan which is simply the same email that the BBC provided. Apparently there was no response to it and nobody discussed or even referenced it via email, teams, text etc….

Well, that's the same day someone suggested an FOIA request. I'm certain they made a phone call in answer.

I filed another one for anything mentioning, referencing of discussing the pilot by name or by reference. I have a sneaking suspicion that one will come back empty as well. Still a few days left to fill it so we shall see.

Then why did the COB respond with "we have nothing"?

Got an email about 15 minutes after I asked how they could have nothing with that attached.
ETA: it was 24 minutes later

Purely speculation on my part but if In response to a request a half hearted/sloppy/purposely bad (take your pick) search is done it allows them to say "we searched and this is all we found". Unless you know of exact documents it is nearly impossible to call them out for it.

COB should have said we "found" nothing. COB did a google search and found nothing?

There's likely a large "back channel" source that's curiously left off open records… voice calls, Slack, something…

My guess (only a guess) is that whoever filled out the accident report put that address down either due to a mistake, laziness or gps said that was the address) and the lawyer did not look at the map to see that property was so small.

Might consider an administrative appeal.

"Well shucks, we looked" isn't a valid excuse.

Pretty sure these requests would fall under state "open records" law and not federal FOIA. I would assume there is a similar process for open records requests.

In answer to the question where does BBC get the money. According to the document you cite FNB Bryan made a loan to BBC and secured it with a lien on the 196ac. This is how the Grantor got paid

I'm not sure but $65.2K per acre does not seem out of line,[Thread derail removed. -Staff]

Listed and sold are very different. That lot on Fitch has been listed for almost 2 years and the ones you posted for almost 3 months.

I'm not sure but $65.2K per acre does not seem out of line, in that residential property in S. county is selling for $100K per acre.

Ok. For clarity...

Provide an example of a 200 +/- undeveloped, residential property that sold in S. CS $100k/ac
