A&M is offering a new FREE in home program to help you help your child prepare for pre-kindergarten or kindergarten.

They are looking for families in Bryan/College Station with children that have turned 3 or 4 by September 1st.

The program is called HIPPY - Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters.

It is a home visitation program that makes an impact at all levels - family, school, and community - by increasing school readiness and parent involvement.

Instruction is given during weekly home visits. 6 additional parent meetings are held during the year based on topics chosen by parents.

30 week curriculum - there is also a summer enrichment curriculum included.

Home educators will role play curriculum with parents. This promotes a comfortable, non-threatening learning experience.

Staff includes a professional coordinator with an extensive background in early childhood education and also training in the HIPPY model. The coordinator supervises & trains the home educators who make weekly home visits.
