I'm a fan of the Koppe Bridge CFS. It reminds me of Tom's back in the day if you get the large. Gotta be the Wellborn location. I will say that my daughter wants me to go to Ronin for theirs. She said it was best she's ever had and living with me, she has tried lots. I can also vouch for Sodolaks. Their steaks and CFS are great.

The sprawl on these threads always cracks me up. The thread title specifically says "in B/CS" not "within a day trip of BCS."

I've also heard good things about Joe's Place, but haven't tried the CFS there. The rest of their food is pretty dang good though.

Sodolaks
Longhorn Tavern

These are my favorites with Sodolaks # 1, but the Tavern has really good pie.

Yep, when traveling that last thing I want to do is drive four to six hours to eat.

Not CFS, but when we have visitors come here for a few days, we most always take them to Shannons for lunch.

Most of them make the statement that they haven't had home cooking like this since they were growing up at home.

Shannon's has CFS. Not as good as some others and I like a ton more stuff on their menu. Shannon's is great and CFS is good just not to me their signature item.

I tried to go to Longhorn but got it confused with Sodalaks even though the name is different and they are miles apart.

I think it's $28 at brunch and brunch comes with two fried eggs, mashed potatoes and seasonal slaw of some sort.

Dinner is a few $ less and it just doesn't have the egg. Don't remember how much less but not cheap still.

Not the best, but I was pleasantly surprised with Willie's CFS this weekend. It was really good and came with grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes for $12 and change. I think it's a really underrated restaurant.

The cave room was unique 4 sure. Probably r800 insulation and everytime i was in it was downright frigid.

I wonder if the cave room is still there. If I recall correctly. I saw something at one time that DASP (afterschool program) was moving in there.

It was tasty but the yellow gravy was disconcerting the first visit.

went to Gate 12 last night and their chicken fried steak is great. You can cut it with a fork. Awesome mashed potatoes and the cody corn is great. Best part is it is 30% less than Ronin !

It was good but we also loved to make fun of its appearance. It definitely left a bit to be desired aesthetically.

The cave room was at the original Ken Martin's on Texas in Bryan before they moved to 29th St. near Bryan High.
