Are they staying in town? Could be cheaper to get a conference room at the hotel and order food in or something.

I understand you on costs, but probably also want to get out of the hotel and do something at a fun restaurant and not in a hotel conference room
Not sure what the budget per plate is but Saltgrass has a "Back 40" that can accommodate that big of a group.
If budget is not an issue I'd go with Casa do Brasil.

Public and Main maybe? I haven't been there during the day/evening to know if it's a family-friendly vibe or not but they have games and stuff.

My daughter's soccer team used to have team meals at Ozona Grill when we played in BCS soccer tournaments.
They have several side rooms they can close off -- or at least sit only team members/family members.

century square would be fun because people could grab different things and picnic on the greenspace
C&J in Bryan has 2 private rooms.
Razoos has a back room. Reasonably priced food, too.

Depending on when they are coming, Big Shots may be an option. I think it is opening in a couple weeks. They have group rooms where can order dinner and do the driving range games (like Top Golf). May be fun for kids and parents.
To change the subject a little if your friend or anyone in that group need a 2/2 fully furnished condo for the tournament I would be happy to discuss it with them and have a short video of our place.
