So far in the Tropical Storm (Nicholas) vs Aggie Dome brawl, the Aggie Dome is winning (as of 3:00pm Monday)

Most likely will change soon. (or will it?)

Yes, a bit of rain would be welcome. Have been holding off on watering the grass and landscaping the past few days.

Doesn't posting about the Aggie Dome decrease it's effectiveness?

Didn't studioone get ragged on for posting about the Aggie Dome and we got the reverse effect?

Fixin' to go out and wash my truck and get the sprinklers going.

Seriously.

Dome may bend but it won't break.

They shifted the track of the storm further south and East so there won't be much rain up this way.

We'll be lucky to get much of anything out of this storm. Aggie Dome will dominate.

We got quite a but of wind and some quick moderate rain north of Bryan. Enough wind to blow a camper door open (that was fun running out to dry it and close the door)

Wow. I didn't expect 10 inches of rain but didn't expect a light dusting, either. Less than 45 minutes away they are getting some strong gusts and rain.

I'm going to be pissed if I don't get some rain out of this. Like a lot of other people, my pond and pastures really could use some.

North Bryan got a smattering that moistened the ground a bit early in the morning. Now, already seeing blue poking through the clouds. This one was a complete no show.

Serious question, and I am lazy. Are we really in a valley? #2 if so, could geography yield consistent weather patterns?

Okay, for the uninitiated, what is the Aggie Dome?

The force field/dome around BCS that can break up ANY storm headed our way. Watch a storm on a radar. It starts intensifying headed straight for BCS, then splits, goes around us, and joins back up as it passes.

A former local weather guy's tongue-in-cheek term for the way so many storm systems seem to pass us on by.

BCS is the high ground between the Brazos and Navasota Rivers, which means storms will skirt around the area as they seek out the path(s) of least resistance through the lower lying reaches of the county along the river bottoms.

so we either need to knock down BCS and lower the ground and rebuild BCS...

or fill the valleys with dirt and raise them to be equal to our height?
