I'm wanting to get an inspection (or two) done on our new construction home as it's going up. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm between College Station and Huntsville on Highway 30.

The only rec I had is no longer doing inspections.
Is the build site outside of city limits ?
What construction stage are you in and who is the builder ?

You are very smart to do this.
We've been burned.

Gratifying is that son and daughter in law contracted with an inspector for 3 inspections on their build in Travis County. It more than paid for itself and made the relationship with the superintendent more mutually respectful. DIL being a commercial architect helped, too.

An experienced realtor might have some insights.

Some basic things you can do.

A) take hair dryer around to every plug and test
B) turn off every water valve in house (toilet kitchen sink etc) can you turn off? anything in the way of knob turning
C) check to see if secondary drain off air handler in attic is hooked up...check primary drain, too!
D) Test all hot and cold water faucets in house
E) open and close all windows
F) Open and close all doors
G) run ac for 30 minutes at 70 degrees...then run heater about 10 minutes later.
H) spend 2 hours in the house doing other stuff as if you lived there

Even though you may have an inspector, he might not do all these things
