They volunteered it as a treatment plan. At the time, I had not heard of it (very end of May). I did know about HCQ and all the press (good and bad) surrounding it.

My normal primary care doctor is with Scott & White. I went to Integrity because the rapid test is available, and no cost with A&M Blue Cross insurance.

Before presenting a treatment plan they went further and asked a bunch of questions (some of which are already on the intake form) about my medical history along with my families medical history.

When they presented the treatment plan with ivermectin, they went into a greater explanation. They talked about both HCQ and Ivermectin. They presented information on studies that were both pro and con for Ivermectin. In a nutshell, they said based on my age, medical history, etc. along with what they know about the drug; I would be a good candidate for taking Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID. There was no pressure put on me to make a decision.

Looking back, I think they may also prescribe HCQ. I did not specifically ask for it, or any medication. The way it was explained to me made me think I was a better candidate for Ivermectin versus HCQ because of my symptoms and medical history. I am making a total assumption, but it seems like they would have also prescribed HCQ if they believed that was a better medical decision to make.

Out of curiosity, is Integrity one of the urgent cares with no actual MDs on staff? Just PAs and NPs?

I am not sure. When I went it was just being acquired from Caprock.

I really just went for the rapid Covid test. I thought I had a false positive because I had no symptoms or fever. I do not really go to the doctor. I have been going to a physical every year for the past few years because A&M gives you a discount to get your annual physical. I went to "Today Care" at Scott & White on University for my last real doctor visit about 5 years ago.

I started ivermectin 6 days ago when my wife was diagnosed. She was probably symptomatic a day or two before that. She is vaccinated. I've had no symptoms no problems and really no concerns. Healthy as a horse and no worms. Got my prescription through pushhealth.com through a local doctor and filled at HEB Tower point all within 2 hours.

I was exposed to someone with a positive Covid test just one day before. I used Push Health and requested a prescription for prevention just to see if I could get it filled locally. The Baylor Scott and White Pharmacy filled it, however, it took them a full week to do so citing that they "didn't have it on hand and had to order it".

So...a local hospital affiliated pharmacy actually filled a prescription for Ivermectin specifically for prevention of Covid. Granted, I don't think they were very happy to do so but it happened nonetheless.

There is a doctor named Pierre Kory. I believe he is from New York ( not sure). He has testified in 2 senate hearings; first in May of 2020 expressing the benefits of Corticosteroids in treating Covid patients. ; Second in December of 2020 pleading the effectiveness of Ivermectin being used in other countries with exceptional results. Dr. Kory is a Pulmonary specialist and seems to breakdown the science a little more than the people in the media. He has several videos out there where he and other doctors cite thousands of cases treated with successful results from different doctors all over the world. It's definitely worth the time to listen if your interested in learning more about Ivermectin.

Two weeks ago my wife went to integrity urgent care at Jones Crossing. They prescribed her ivermectin. The prescription was sent to HEB Jones Crossing. She ended up going to Physicians Premier ER and getting the antibody infusion done. They prescribed her some meds (don't remember which) but we ended up not filling the script at HEB but they made it seem like they were willing.

Physically she was good within a day after getting the infusions. Had lingering tiredness and loss of smell and taste for the next 10 days or so.

Dr. Kory is associated with a group called Front Line Covid 19 Critical Care Alliance. Lots of good info on their website: https://covid19criticalcare.com/.

What did this cost? I've pretty much decided that when an adult in my family test positive, it's the first thing we're going to do. Private pay, no waiting. Trying to figure out ahead of time where we'll go.

Not sure the cost as it's being billed to insurance first.

In January I called my doctor but he refused to see me because I was sick. They sent me to st Joe's clinic next to Lowe's. He prescribed me Ivermectin and I picked it up from Walgreens on rock prairie.

I had Covid and felt terrible for 2 days, and then turned the corner. It was like the worst hangover I ever had.

Didn't ask for ivermectin, I had never heard of it before.

Personally I take medical advice from my doctor, or in this case a doctor at a clinic. The horse stuff is cute, but most medical professionals know that it has been prescribed to people as well.

Listen to the doctor, and I hope that you get better. It is a sneaky disease and you can deteriorate in a hurry.

Another poster said they paid $175 but in Houston. We have good insurance but sometimes it's easier and even cheaper to just pay out of pocket.

"Out of stock" likely means they're just refusing to fill it.

You might try one of the pharmacies which isn't part of a chain/grocery store or affiliated with St. Joseph or S&W.

BCS Pharmacy
Village Foods
Pharmacy Corner (It's inside the Physicians Center, so no idea how willing they would be to fill it.)
GoldStar Pharmacy (It's inside the St. Joseph building off Fitch/6 so again, so again, no idea if they would fill it.)

And maybe Brookshire Brothers. Haven't heard anything about them one way or the other.

You might also try pharmacies in Caldwell or Navasota.

My sister works for a large chain grocery store pharmacy in another state. They had very little in stock in her store to start with, and she said their supplier has none.

One would suspect the suppliers and manufacturers are feeling pressure to limit supply for humans. There are a hundred ways the government could make their life difficult.

Just thought of it, you could also try the Amazon Pharmacy.

Goldstar is top notch. They fill some custom compounded meds for me.

They are what a pharmacy should be.

Anecdotal hydroxy evidence 2.0.

Or, you know, she started getting over it like people do with most viruses.

I took Ivermectin and HCQ and still ended in the hospital for a week with Covid pneumonia. Healthy, no comorbidities.

This is not a thread for you to debate whether the drugs work or impugn those who want to take it. Keep it on F84.

If there are doctors or PAs in the Brazos Valley who believe in early treatment with HCQ, IVM, etc., it is done on the down low. The corporate systems do not treat early. Suggest the AAPS (American Academy of Physicians and Surgeons) who maintain a list of AAPS affiliated providers who will treat early by state.

Closest on this list are a few practices in Magnolia, Spring, Kingwood, etc. None in BCS unfortunately, BUT they are out there; you just have to ask around.
