The humidity in our home as been higher than what it usually is, but the a/c is running fine. (unit is a few years old). We just need to get a check up (or whatever it is called). I can call who installed it but I think they are rather expensive now. Any suggestions on who to call? and suggestions about humidity?

Siegert one hour. You obviously have a drain issue.

This can cause high humidity? Should I call the company who installed it then? Or should any reputable a/c be ok?

Any reputable company.
And don't be surprised if it's something other than a drain problem.

What could it be?

We have had that issue before and it could be a number of things.
Age of the system
Dirty coil
Type of system. We had a single stage system and those will not control humidity
If the vents aren't sealed, you might be sucking air in from the attic.
It could be something as simple as a clogged drain.

Barkers, Malek, One Hour...any of those can tell you.

We had this problem in one section of our house this summer. Have the ducts checked because they are holding moisture in them.

Keep us posted. Also, ducts have air leaks in the attic. Duct tape can be the remedy.

Also, if your AC is not sized correctly, it could be short cycling. Coming on and not staying on long enough to properly remove the humidity.

HTTPS://malekheatingandair.com - we had a fan issue with our unit not too long ago and they were able to get it fixed same day.

Another price of advice is don't leave the fan in the ON position. It will push the moisture off the coil back into the home. Auto is the way to go for cooling.

I use Circulate.

For the humidity issue, your AC is shutting off as a safety mechanism because the drain isn't draining. If you've noticed that your house is hot and humid and your AC just can't cool it off, it's a drain problem. If your electric bills are less than what you usually pay because the AC is in auto shut off, that is another sign of a drain problem. It'll cost about $150 to have someone come out and blow it out.

Just had someone come out yesterday! He said the same as some of y'all did due to the rain it can cause higher humidity. Checked everything outside and inside and everything looked great.

Everything checked out perfect. He said with the rain it can cause some higher humidity. We only had that one time it was above 60% but it's stays around 50% percent. We keep our house at 74 and it stays very cool!
