Howdy Ags,

I'm looking for muratic acid for my saltwater pool. Sure, I can buy it at the local pool store for $10 per gallon, but I'm used to paying around $6 per gallon from Home Depot, Walmart, etc. I have been unable to find any in stock at those places for the past few weeks.

Where is the affordable supply around BCS?

My Lowe's app is showing it in stock at the CS location. $12.98 for two one-gallon bottles. This is where I get mine.

The depot app shows 193 in stock. Aisle 56 endcap.

Saw it at the CS Lowes yesterday.

Grab extra if you can - we've had some trouble finding it at Lowe's as well, which is where we usually get it!

Lowes and Leslie totally out. Anyone find any lately? I just used my last jug so I should be ok for a week at least.

It's in the garden center, did you check there?

Got a few at Lowes in Bryan. Two boxes left on display if anyone else is out.

Two pallets worth at home depot in outside garden area, the back end cap of aisle 56 near where the large outdoor trash cans are.

It is crazy how much they charge. I work for a chemical manufacturer and it is a by product of one of our chemical processes. We get it for free when making another chemical. It is only worth maybe a couple pennies per pound.

Um, actually, it seems that the price is actually quite a bit higher than that, from what I have just read in this very thread.

Not BCS but local HD has it. Hella cheaper than pool store.

This chemical is resold 5 or 6 times, shipped to 4-5 new locations and packaged into gallon jugs you get a large markup. Not to mention the 100% margins Lowe's or HD are adding. Direct from the manufacturer it is pennies.

Yes I imagine most of the cost is in transport and packaging as it is pretty dangerous stuff.

It is amazing how many times a chemical changes hands before it is actually sold for end use. I have seen a few that change hands 5-6 times and marked up 30-50% each time.
