I practiced several times with my son's team. He's 14. Nothing torn but I am feeling my age. The activity makes me feel better. More fun and cheaper than a gym.
Perhaps but most 'old' folks I know who play soccer tear an achilles.

College station has an adult league
I took a soccer class at A&M back in the day. Class was on kyle field... on the astroturf... with that crown in the middle of the field.... if you kicked from.center of field towards sideline, you really had to be accurate.
It was fall semester so early september it was 120 on the field

I have never torn anything before, ever. My family has been blessed with physical youthfulness. We just all die of colon cancer.
I saw some guys out at Veteran's Park yesterday during lunchtime playing on the turf field closest to University. It was around 1:15 PM on Monday.
Following. Moving back to BCS in July and my 16 year old can also join....I used to play a lot of pick up games back in the mid 90's with international students at Thomas park and other places around campus...

The MWF noon game that was on Simpson field is now at veterans. Usually starts more like 12:15-12:30
That's great for professors or students.
I'm not paying soccer at noon during the summer. Maybe when I was 25 - not now.

Following.... I'd love to get some soccer in....
There is pickup nearly every evening at Veterans. It's mostly college aged with a few older. If lights are on, they usually start around 7:30, a little earlier if no lights. They use GroupMe for planning.
